BIOGRAPHY
Lisa Marie is a musician, composer, performer and visual artist with a career in music and the arts spanning more than 30 years. Her prolific body of work has been recognized with honors and awards from media, institutions, government and international organizations. She is a talented, multidisciplinary and prolific artist, ever expanding her vision, reach and impact on those who participate as observers and listeners—the audience.
Under the umbrella of her production and publishing company [Big Girl Productions (1996-2012) renamed GDI, LLC], Lisa Marie develops, produces, publishes and performs music and mixed media art projects, including a catalogue of original material. She collaborates with professional and up-and-coming ballerinas, actors, pop and classical musicians, lyricists, playwrights, photographers, designers, lighting technicians and sound engineers. A production and performance entrepreneur, she also manages promotional and marketing campaigns for her projects and for others’. Collaborative creativity is the fire that drives her.
In demand since she started a singing group in high school, Lisa Marie has performed on stage in countless venues. By invitation of the International Olympic Committee, she and her band headlined several events at the 2002 Winter Olympics (see attached letter from Mayor Rocky Anderson of Salt Lake City). Other performances include the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show (as Jansport and Teva Sandals’ house band) and multiple years headlining Utah’s Arts, Pride and Jazz Festivals.
Her philanthropic performances are too numerous to count. They include shows for the AIDS Foundation, the Humane Society, LGBT centers, women’s shelters and student art programs. In 2005, having just completed her first fully original LP, titled Super Duper, she toured the U.S. with Blessid (sic) Union of Souls, a group with five Billboard Top 20 songs. Less than a year later, she launched her first full album, Awake, at the Rose Wagner Theatre in a hugely successful multi-media, multi-artist extravaganza of her creation that she named: Ispirata: Artist, Genius, Life. A tour of Germany followed in 2009. While there, she accepted the offer of a month-long installation as the house entertainment at a 500 year-old castle in Eisenberg-Zell.
Lisa Marie’s eyes are as keen as her ears. Ten prints of her compelling photography were on display for the most recent accreditation show for Boise State University’s Art Department. The department also submitted a painting of hers to demonstrate par excellence examples of student artists’ work. Upon graduation from the program in December 2015, she held a showing of dozens of her works, along with an original music performance, at her private studio in Boise.
A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and visual artist, Lisa Marie, a consummate performer, combines her visual and musical talents into a method of storytelling that is unique and compelling, delighting and thrilling audiences of enormous diversity.
